Behind OSC is a leadership team with 40+ years of combined experience in vocal pedagogy, performing, and directing. Founders Heather McKenzie Patterson & Katherine Sandoval Taylor have screened thousands of auditions, developed singers toward collegiate and professional success, and built the kind of training environments where performers grow quickly and confidently.
Their expertise ensures that each cast member receives tailored guidance grounded in technical mastery earned through decades spent working in the industry.
With advanced degrees from top conservatories and acclaimed performance careers across the country, Katherine and Heather bring unmatched real-world expertise to developing performers on professional trajectories.
As nationally recognized artists who have worked on major stages in multiple genres, they know exactly what today’s musical theatre landscape demands—from healthy technique to artistic identity to true professional readiness—and they design OSC’s programs to ensure singers rise to meet (and exceed!) those expectations.
